December 10
Greetings!
I had a great birthday on Tuesday! Thanks for the good wishes~ We'd had a storm but the sun came out just as I was heading out after having worked in the morning. I visited my favorite yarns shops and had to get fabric for some custom bags so found myself in the fabric shop too. All nice places to be. I went downtown to see my boys and to collect some birthday kisses.... and I had a great walk downtown reflecting on the 9 years I lived there (in my 20's) and where I am now and just how happy I am in all aspects of my life. What a great place to be. Then I came home with the latest Harry Potter DVD (just released) and a Flatbread, so Paul and I got cozy and watched the movie. We even treated ourselves to our favorite flavor of Ben & Jerrys... and of course I knit :)
I finally finished up my green cabled mittens.... not sure why they dragged on so long, but they're done now! So how long they took is irrelevant! The fit is great and they're super cozy. Nice memory and bounce... I used Cascade 220. Some of you have requested my pattern for the cabled scarf and I'd hoped to have it here, and will by the end of tonight, but I have to get the listings to Allison, so check in later tonight and I'll have it updated....
We moved the dining room table on to the beautiful new bamboo floor! It's lovely, we're thrilled! Now to paint the living room.... which we hope to get to soon though my custom work is keeping me really busy.
I found myself in JoAnn's last week and had a blast looking at all their fun calico weight fabrics. Maybe it's because they days are getting shorter and it's been stormy, and dark.... but I found myself drawn to some really lively, colorful and whimsical fabrics. They simply made me smile (!) and I had a blast working some of them up into Lil' Yarn Sacks... see them tonight.
Again, lots of custom work for me this time of year but 8 nice bags being offered tonight. Thanks for being here... remember to breath deeply and often during this somewhat hectic time of year! Be good to yourselves and knit on good women!
Martha.
