...A happy life is one which is in accordance with its own nature...
Greetings! Many of you in the Northeast know of the ice storm we had during the past 24 hours. Snow is reported for today, but not much is happening yet. I've been enjoying snowshoeing in our back woods, but missed it this week as Woody has been home recuperating from his bottom wisdom teeth coming out. He goes back home (apartment) today, and back to work tomorrow when he'll work a double shift...on his 19th birthday! It's been good to have him here. For my birthday in December, Woody picked out fabric for me to make myself a knitting bag. Even at 18, his taste is classic and refined...and he chose for me a beautiful fabric with a solid black lining. I came up with a new style while working with it...and added a beautiful vintage dragon button that I love. The style is called The Addison County Bag and I'm so pleased! My original (prototype) is a bit smaller...but see one offered tonight. It's a tote style, has the perfect size pattern pocket, and has fabric bands/loops that attach the handles so they rest easily on the sides of the bag when open. See some great new fabrics this week too!
The hat Paul is wearing is one I made a few years back...I was so happy to see him wearing it! It was a fun pattern from Northeast Fiber Arts (I made one for each of the boys too)....and was done in wool/cotton/silk. Looks great on him. Enjoy the pictures of the woods...you can see where the sun is around 4:00pm...we love springtime as the sun rises higher above the tree line. It was windy that day, and I looked down and saw a broken field grass that was being whipped back and forth by the wind, creating a neat pattern in the snow.....
On the knitting front, I'm hoping to finish up a pair of long cuffed wool mittens in cobalt blue...and am steadily moving along on my Swallowtail Shawl.
Till next time..be well and warm and knit on good women!
Martha.
