Greetings! Betsy and I had a blast at the NH Sheep & Wool Festival! We got an early start leaving rainy Vermont and arriving two hours later to sunny and windy New Hampshire. Great festival... we enjoyed lots of shopping, our fair share of 'fair food' adorable live stock and some really great vendors. We arrived back in rainy Vermont in time for dinner with our families... I found my three guys busy in the kitchen preparing a wonderful shrimp & clam linguine dinner. A stellar day!
One of my favorite purchases was a sterling silver shawl pin from a lovely woman named Leslie. Betsy purchased one as well. See her work here:

It's a beautiful and efficient design and won't be my last! I also bought two hanks of a merino/angora blend and I'll knit them into lace scarves. I found a great deal on some gorgeous alpaca.... 2 hanks (665 yards each) of charcoal tweed for a sweater, and another single hank in charcoal for a shawl. I was thrilled to find a vendor selling vintage buttons, so I purchased quite a bit from her. I purchased a kit to do a beaded scarf, and I splurged on a hank of merino/mohair in a stunning tweed for a lace wrap. Fun, fun fun, we loved it!
You'll notice some changes here on the site. Allison had some great ideas to make things more efficient, and so far I love the changes. I've decided that I can't have an open custom list as the demand is so high, I know I just can't take that many names while continuing to offer weekly listings. I had email issues for awhile, but it's all set now. If you didn't hear from me in the last week, and think you're still on the old custom list, please be in touch. All that said, I will continue to make custom bags as time allows. It will be on a first come first serve basis and from week to week I'll do my best.
Rainy here today, but the next few days look sunny.... the apple trees are in bloom!
Thanks for being here & knit on good women!
Martha.
