Green Mountain Knitting Bags

November 25

Greetings! It's a short week with it being Wednesday but I'm happy to have six lovely bags to offer tonight! See some of the new fabrics I mentioned last week. Another custom went out on Tuesday and I have a good custom list I'll be working on the next 2 to 3 weeks. Gray, short days this time of year... and I'm typing early anxious to start my cleaning and baking/cooking for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get a lot done tonight so tomorrow I can enjoy the day. My sister comes on Friday, I look forward to seeing her though most of our time will be spent discussing our mom and our next move as she's requiring more care. I had to take a ride to Addison County over the weekend and stopped in Middlebury at one of my all time favorite shops called 'BeJewelled'.... it's like walking into a woman's closet in 1942! Lots of vintage clothes, fabrics, buttons, kitchenware etc...... and I found the sweetest little celluloid powder container. I'd never seen anything like it and neither had the shop owner, we both agreed it was a gem. She asked where I was going to keep it and I told her I was planning on using it, she was happy about that too. So, my favorite locally made lavender powder is already inside. Treasures..... I'm working on a top down sweater with a bit of lace... pattern is called 'Peasy' (on Ravelry) and I'm using a wool & linen blend... really enjoying it. We finished up the painting over the weekend getting the final coat in the new dining room and hallway, and the bamboo flooring goes down this weekend. (!!!) Still a good amount or work but the end is in sight and we're excited! And I received a great package in the mail from a friend (!) full of goodies... one being a hank of merino fingering yarn from 'Fresh From the Cauldron' a talented dyer on Etsy. I wound it and started a very simple reversible ribbed scarf... mindless, sometimes we need our knitting to be just that.

It's a multiple of 4 + 3:

Seed Rib Stitch (multiple of 4x + 3 sts)
Row 1: (k3, p1) rep betw ( ) to last 3 sts, k3
Row 2: k1, p1, (k3, p1) rep betw ( ) to last st, k1

Oh, also picked up these 4" double pointed needles for doing thumbs and fingers for gloves...... cute little things :)

I'm not sure where this little patch of sun on the hill tops came from (I couldn't see any sun anywhere) but it was peeking out somewhere, just enough for a beautiful late afternoon view.

I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. Hopefully we'll all find some time to knit...... on!

Thanks good women, I'll be back next Thursday....

Martha.
