Green Mountain Knitting Bags

February 4

Greetings! It's been such a busy week... between getting custom work done, prepping for some 'double sold' bags and tonight's listings, I've been straight out with very little time for to knit. Which of course means I did knit, just not quite as much ;) Once again welcome to all the new gals, and a warm greeting to my returning friends. We've had a run of nice weather, some much welcomed sun and it looks like more of the same for this upcoming week.

While in the post office a woman approached me and told me I had taught her daughter how to knit when she was in 6th grade ... I had done an after school 'knitting' program. Her daughter is now a senior in high school and started a business knitting hats! She said she has order forms and is knitting them for both her friends and teachers. I was thrilled! How nice that her desire for spending money can be made doing what she loves... they even let her knit in class :) I must have smiled for an hour afterwards....

The yoga workshop was great last weekend. It focused on Yin Yoga 'Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga; however, it directs the stimulation normally created in the asana portion of the practice deeper than the superficial or muscular tissues (which we are calling the yang tissues). Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.' Different than what we usually do and interesting to hold a position for so long (4 minutes) without the Ujjayi breathing. Fascinating to 'see' what your body does, what gives and shifts.... Back to the regular class tomorrow and I'm being treated to a private session afterwards for my birthday! Which was in December :)

I seem to have discovered the world of knitting podcasts! I'm in my studio many hours a day (and night) and generally have a book tape going... but I've listened an re-listened to what I have, and saw yet another mention of a podcast on Ravelry so decided to check them out. What fun! The are the two that I like the best:

She's fun and energetic and gets as excited about color as I do! The other is a mother daughter team found here:

Both are great fun and I'm delighted to have found them. I joined both of their groups on Ravely, and even decided to take it one step further and join the Manic Purl Ravelympics Team! Everyone signed up will have a time for the offical 'cast on' and the goal is to complete your project (or projects) during the Olympics. ! I had decided not to do any Ravelympics, but the more I thought about it the more fun I thought it would be. So... the sweater is picked out, the yarn too... and hopefully I'll be able to complete it! I love love love the Olympics and can't wait for them to start. I'll have to be especially good with my time management as I'm often back in my studio after dinner (and well into the night) so....
I can't seem to resist the stitch markers made by my favorite 'Velvet Hippo'. See my latest set, and here's the link:

Wonderful, yes? And look at this adorable packaging for some hand salve! Here in Vermont, especially this time of year, I consistently am caring for my hands. One part of that regiment is to rub in good salve every night before bed. This one is wonderful and the smell is delicious....

I'll be purchasing from them again in the very near future!

Another nostepinne is coming up tonight. Woody came out and made one... had he not had to wait so long at the DMV he would have made another > <

but it's a pretty one, and it's so nice when he's here at the house turning. I can hear that lathe downstairs and am always excited to see what he comes up with.

Okay, thanks for being here. Enjoy this week's bags and knit on good women!
