June 3

Greetings! We had a beautiful long weekend with pristine summer weather. Paul and I spent most of Saturday in our canoe on Lake Champlain and when we weren't paddling, he was fishing and I was of course, knitting. I've continued with my tangerine shawlette, but didn't want to bring it in the canoe so opted to start another shawl I've had my eye on. I'd bought a Magic Ball in the 'Save the Earth' colorway on Etsy some months back, and decided to start it up.

I thought the colors would be rather subtle, but they aren't... they're deep and almost jewel toned, but I love them and knitting with it is addictive! I love the texture and bounce that this yarn has.. I love the weight as well, not to mention the color change is so much fun! I was disappointed to have missed her May update as she won't have any more of these until the Fall. Pattern is the Northern Lights Shawl and is a free download on Ravelry. I've shown a picture of a finished shawl (not mine) so you can see how pretty the pattern is. It's a fun knit, easy, and easily memorized.

We received some much needed rain this week and my watering barrel is finally full. I keep an old barrel outside where it catches rain water off the roof and that's what I use for my daily waterings. Woody came out and had a good two days of turning. In contrast, my week felt a bit rushed with the Monday holiday but I'm pleased to say I hit my minimum.... and another custom order went out as well.

I'm meeting up with Savvy Girl Melanie again tomorrow to show her Burlington and to take her to Northeast Fiber Arts. She was nice enough to gift me a lovely skein of Manos, thanks Melanie!

I'll have yoga in the morning (no class on Monday, just can't miss tomorrow) and will head right in to meet her after that. As Friday is usually my yoga/pack bags/clean the house day, I'll do what I can before 8:30 tonight so tomorrow I can enjoy my time.

Enjoy tonight's bags... there's quite the variety! And I came up with a tote style that I love. I'm offering two tonight and am thinking about adding them to the regular line up!

This is such a lovely time of year. I adore these long days and love getting out every evening for a bike ride. The earth s so fragrant and sweet and full of life and energy. Remember to notice the difference in your own bodies during this time and make adjustments as needed. For me.. I love the longs days so much that I tend to want less sleep, and for me (who is forever a night owl, but up rather early) this can catch up to me easily.... which I feel it has now. So, a bit early to bed for me tonight.... after a bit of knitting , of course.

Stay well... be kind, and knit on good women!

Till next week,
Martha.
