Greetings all!

Another busy week, hope this finds you all well. While I think of it... I placed an order for more leather shoulder straps and will pick them in a week or so. Thanks for all the great feedback regarding the Sock Satchels, glad you like them as much as I do! I finished up my first magic loop socks and I love them! I've made many socks on my dpn's but had to try the magic loop. It's great fun but I miss my dpn's so will use a combination of both. They fit really well and I've already started another pair. My cranberry cardigan is moving along as well and I look forward to getting all sweater pieces together for the yoke.
I picked my mom up on Saturday thinking it was the state wide 'Maple Days' but that's this weekend! No matter, we had fun at an antique shop where I found a nice little lot of vintage buttons. The shop owner (Martha) and I got into a great chat about darning eggs and she mentioned she has a large collection at home... wouldn't I love to see it! In her shop is a lovely area full of vintage sewing items and I saw something I'd never seen.... never even knew existed! It was a old wooden stick about 6" long with two small egg shaped wooden ends. I asked her about it and it was used to darn the fingers of gloves! Brilliant! I loved it!
I have to cut my news short this week as I wanted to have three Sock Satchels too offer along with the bags, so am I bit rushed for time. I do want to mention a fun package that arrived today from Flocks of Yarn.

The gal who runs it also does one of my favorite Podcasts (The Knitting Show) along with her brother.... it's so much fun to listen to and I was pleased to find Flocks of Yarn a great site with wonderful service and super fast shipping. I ordered 2 sets of Hiya Hiys double pointed needles (dpn's) and am very pleased with them. They're so light!!! Of course I'm itching to work with them. She did say she will soon have more sizes available. I love how she has the site set up as you can search for yarn by color, brand, weight and content. I especially love the color search....
Thanks Deirdre for the great service!

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but must run.....

Stay well good women, and if you're lucky enough to be in a muddy area, go get your boots dirty and knit on!

Till next week,
Martha.

Oh... the geese are back the geese are back!
