Color!

Greetings! I finally got my flowers planted, most of them anyway! What fun it is to lay them all out and pick and choose which to put together... I opened my studio window this morning and this sweet, warm lilac scented air filled my lungs. What a wonderful time of year... beautiful colors and so much green, I love it! When planting the flowers I had to run in a get a hank of yarn (well, two hanks) as the colors matched beautifully together! Is is any wonder we love to knit and work with so many pretty yarns??? The raspberry/yellow/lime yarn arrived today from a seller on Etsy. I love her work, and plan to do a simple large granny square that can be then folded in half and worn as a shawl.

I need some good mindless crochet for the weekend. Whenever I've done granny squares, I've done them the traditional way with one side being the right side. But I always love how the 'wrong' (who says?) side looks too... sometimes even better. So when reaching the end of a round, I'm going to turn the work and work in the opposite direction, so.... both the right and wrong sides will have equal billing! I look forward to wrapping the yarn, maybe tonight :)
Woody came out and had a productive week. Two noste and two stiletto's for tonight, along with a beer (tap) pull for a friend and a pestle. Excellent. Our older son graduates from UVM on Sunday, so the next two days we'll be busy preparing the house (and food) for a get together on Sunday and some over night guests too! We look forward to a busy, but fun weekend :)
I reached the center point on my shawlette and have started to decrease... I think it'll measure about 14" at its widest point. What a fun knit! I love small shawl's and look forward to doing another when this is finished.
I should run... I'm actually going to try and get a custom bag done after I type as I know the weekend will be crazy! Lot's of fun listings for tonight so enjoy!

Remember to fill your lungs with the sweet smell of spring...... as you knit on, good women.

Martha.
