My handles are made locally. They are currently solid Birch, a hardwood that is grown and responsibility harvested here in Vermont. They vary in shades of light, to medium and sometimes dark, and often have beautiful grain showing in the wood. Instead of tags or labels in the bags, I brand each front handle with my branding iron that displays my GrMtnKnittingBags name.
